Late one afternoon, we found a treasure in the cemetery at Yasinia.  The cemetery lay on a steep hill that towered over the town.  In the distance we could see snow-capped mountains among them the highest in Ukraine.  The stones were moderately weathered but featured interesting and attractive designs.  While we were working the wife of the former caretaker approached us.  She reported at the last burial was in 1988.  A few unique stones featured the name of the deceased in Latin characters on the back of the stones.  There were several hundred stones in a well-kept cemetery.
