In Volochysk we found a desolate cemetery perched on a substantial hill on the outskirts of town. There was what appeared to be a Holocaust memorial and a few modern graves on the edge of the hill, then some stones in an impenetrable thicket, and then a few older fragments and stones on the brow of another side of the hill. Virtually all of the stones were weathered and eroded with little to be seen by way of inscriptions or decorative art. There were perhaps 75 stones and fragments visible.
