In Khotyn we had the pleasure of spending some time with the head of the Jewish community and a friend of his who graciously provided entrance to the synagogue that is currently in use, showed us the former Jewish section of the town including a large former synagogue that has been converted into an apartment building, and directed us to the cemetery.

The cemetery is large and well-maintained in so far as the small Jewish community can do that.  When we visited there was one couple working in the cemetery as well as other visitors.  There appeared to be an on-site gatekeeper.  The cemetery is securely fenced.
