I had hoped to find a large and interesting cemetery in Iasi, and had altered my itinerary specifically to include the town. Unfortunately, while the cemetery was in fact very large, the stones we found were generally ordinary and relatively plain in their ornamentation. Admittedly we did not cover all of the cemetery, but I think we saw enough to conclude that it is not particularly impressive in the quality of its stones. The one exception to that statement is the World War I military section which was quite moving with its ranks of simple, unadorned tombstones.
