In Chemerivtsi we found a totally destroyed cemetery. Only two stones were intact. The cemetery did feature stones in a shape that we had seen only very infrequently before. These stones featured a vertical section with the inscription facing out and the back attached to a horizontal, long, half-cylinder shape made of concrete. The cemetery location was open and unprotected and was cut by numerous trails. One of the intact stones was apparently that of a fifteen year old girl and bore an inscription on one side in Russian and on the other side in Hebrew.
