In the small town of Betlanovce, we found the cemetery graced with a “no dumping” sign that seemed to be working.  Many of the stones were either down, or fragmented, or both.  The cemetery was completely open and unprotected on the edge of town, but it seemed no worse for wear despite those conditions.  Maintenance may have been done in the past; however, more needed to be done given the state of the vegetation.
